OxyClassifieds - Classifieds PHP Script

Server requirements

To run the script, you will need a domain name and a hosting account or dedicated server with software installed for a web server.

In order to properly run, OxyClassifieds needs the following features, which are commonly found on today web servers:

• PHP with a version equal or higher than 5.2
• MySQL with a version equal or higher than 4.0
• GD Graphics Library (this library is used for images resize)
• To be able to generate PDF invoices there are some additional requirements: PHP version 5.3 or higher, DOM extension and MBString extension.

In order to use Search Engine Friendly Links feature that our software provides, then you will also need to meet the following:

• Apache web server (most web servers run with Apache. If you have a Windows server it might run IIS instead.)
• mod_rewrite Apache module loaded (this is also a standard on Apache servers)

In order to use Location Subdomains feature, then the following requirements will add:

• To be able to create wildcard subdomains. You will find more details about these requirements in this part of documentation: Configuring your server for location subdomains
• Apache as web server and mod_rewrite Apache module loaded as explained in the previous section

Our script requirements are common for most servers, but you still should check before buying the script if the requirements are met.

If you are in the process of choosing a hosting, we recommend to consider UNIX ( Linux, FreeBSD or other UNIX operating system ) over Windows servers. UNIX systems are more stable and more secure than the ones running Windows, and you will also avoid any problems you might have using search engine friendly links. As far as you managing your hosting account there is absolutely no difference, both UNIX and Windows come usually to all hostings with web Control Panels for you to manage your account.

License Specifications

OxyClassifieds script comes with a lifetime license, once you buy it, you own it for life.

One purchased license can be used on one domain only*. However, it is permitted to make multiple installations on multiple subdomains or subfolders of the same domain.

Example of subdomains: for your main domain yourdomain.com, you can install the script on multiple subdomains that can look like: http://auto.yourdomain.com, http://estate.yourdomain.com, or http://www.yourdomain.com/boats/.

* The license does not limit the usage to a certain domain name which you purchase it for, you can change the domain name at any time.

6 months free Support and Updates service

Once you purchase a license you benefit from a 6 months free Support and Upgrades service. While this service is active you benefit from the following:

• Free support
• Free install
• Download new script versions and updates

Note: The expiration of this service does not in any way invalidate your license. You will continue to use the script as before, and only renew this service when you need it.

When the Support and Updates service expires, at any time you need any of the listed features you can renew it from your client account. A 6 months service renewal starts from €29 for one domain license. For multiple domain licenses the price increases with €10 a license.

Free support

We provide email support via our tickets system which you will access from your client account. Prior to becoming a client please use our Contact form for any questions you might have.

Free installation

Professional script install is a service we provide free of charge with the license you purchase. If you want to request a free installation, after you login to your client account, fill in the Request Free Installation form that you will find in Resources section.

Or you can simply contact us and provide us with the following information:

• Domain name
• FTP hostname
• FTP username and password for the install location
• MySQL server name (usually this is "localhost")
• MySQL database name
• MySQL username and MySQL password

Note: If you provide us your FTP password please change your FTP password to a temporary one before sending the password to us.

Upgrades

Clarification of terms

An Upgrade is considered the process which changes a system from one major version to another. For example changing from version 7.08 to version 8.5 is considered an upgrade.

Note: Upgrades are built so they always modify the system to reach the latest available subversion of the particular version it is used for. For example when upgrading from version 7 to version 8 you will have the latest available 8 subversion which is currently 8.5.

An Update is considered a simpler process which adds some features or fixes from one minor version to another, for example from 8.2 to 8.3.

Note: Updates are always applied incrementally from the system subversion number to the latest available one. For example if your system is 8.1, then you will need to apply the update for 8.2 and then the update for 8.3 to reach version 8.3.

Using your OxyClassifieds client account you can download any time upgrades and updates, and also full script archives while your Updates and Support service is active in your account.

Instructions on how to use upgrades and updates are provided within the archives you download, and if you prefer we can also apply the upgrades and updates for you as part of free support service.
